On Saturday, June 24, I will give a benefit concert for Syria in my rehearsal space in Amsterdam-Zuidoost, because of the earthquake. A few months ago I organized it for the first time, de Ochtend (NPO Klassiek) interviewed me about the initiative.

We ended up having a decent yield (4,000 euros). Of course, it remains a drop in the bucket. Syrians have had a very hard time for years since the war, the country is burdened by sanctions and an earthquake came on top of it and the situation remains dire. So I want to give another concert in solidarity with Syria on Saturday, June 24, which will be in conjunction with a presentation by Yvette Shamier. She has been to Syria twice, in April and May, and she can speak enthusiastically about it, and of course she will talk about what is planned for the next trip. In fact, she is leaving for Syria again in July. I wanted to organize something before she leaves so hopefully we can still do our part.
The concert on June 24 starts at 2 p.m., and you can walk in from 1:30 p.m. onwards.
If you cannot come but would like to contribute, you can do so via the following bank number:
